Gold is a valuable commodity that not everyone has the privilege to own. Yes, most married couples own gold rings but they are prized more for their symbolic meanings more than anything else. One reason why people don’t own as much as they want to of this precious metal is they sell gold for money.

There are many reasons that compel a person to sell valuable jewelry. First, they do it out of necessity. They just got laid off or they can’t find a job. They need to eat so they do stuff like sell jewelry. Then there’s the need to buy other things that they deem more important than jewelry like gadgets or a new car. Others sell them because money is easier to use when they need it compared to gold that they need to sell first.

Gold also fetches a high price in the market which is why many people find it irresistible to sell. This is particularly so for individuals who need money to put up a business or in dire financial need for medical emergencies.

Christmas is about big celebrations and gift giving.  That is why for this coming season, I have started shopping for gifts at least three months ahead of time.  I don’t want to be caught up in a Christmas rush.  I wanted each gift to be carefully chosen and wrapped.  I remember and my brother eyes lit up as we saw gifts with our names on it. My mother and I had been through a lot, ever since my father died. At a young age, I learned on how to be responsible and be more considerate towards other people. I also helped with the chores around the house so that my mother would be able to focus on doing her work without any interruptions. In the past, my mom tried her best to find a job to support me but it wasn’t easy. She was forced to sell diamond ring that was given to her by my father, when they got married. Spending time in a new place gives me the natural high.  I love exploring new places and learning about their culture that is why traveling tops my list of favorite things to do.  Sometimes I get to travel and get out of the city more than once a year especially when my schedule permits.  However, I do not have unlimited funds so some of my travels involve hopping on my car and driving to some unplanned destination.  My out of the country trips have been possible because I sell jewelry aside from earning my salary from my 9-5office works.

It is actually my mom’s jewelry that I sell.  She loves collecting them and then when she gets tired of it, she gives it to me.  She tells me to sell gold jewelry so that I can finance the trips that I have always wanted to do.  She really does not mind that I sell some of her stuff because according to her, the things that I learn from my trips and the things I see worth far more than the prices of the jewelry that I sell.  .  I thank my mom for being so supportive of my endeavors.

I have been happily married for ten years now.  I have a happy family with two kids and a husband that is very understanding.  We had a picture perfect family.  I and my husband were both working to finance our needs and our children’s as well.  One day, my husband met an accident on the road with a drunk driver that collided with our car.  Because of the other car’s speed, our car had a serious damage and so with my husband.  The driver escaped with a hit and run case and left us to take care of everything including the bills.  My husband was on a comma, and bills were piling up.  Our savings was also on the drain, so I decided to sell engagement ring that my husband gave me.
