A High Five

Being a Chief in a Maintenance Department in one of the schools in my town takes so much of my time. After the flood that has recently hit our town, there is so much work to be done. Every inch of the school needed repair but the most important part is the school gate. It is a wooden gate that has been there for more than a decade. Every year the school spends hundreds of dollars for its repair and maintenance. The storm has actually toppled it down.
I then suggest replacing it with wrought iron gate. I have researched about a company that does iron craftsmanship. Their designs and patterns are so wonderful, classical and elegant. The school may be spending a little bit more this time, but, I told them it will be worth investing in it rather than repairing the part-wooden and part-concrete gates year after year. The company also provides star railings services which we could also hire them for. I told the committee that the stairway at the back of the building which had been used by students needed replacement too. Students passed there when the hallway is crowded already.
When the replacement is done, the school’s image is changed too. It has become more classy and professional. Now we do not have to spend so much money with the maintenance of the gates.
