I was looking forward to the contractors showing up today to take out the old wooden gate and putting in the new iron gate. It was going to transform the whole look of the front of the house. I had also ordered some new iron doors that matched the iron gate but they were going to take a little longer to make, so I was going to have to wait about two more weeks before they would be installed.

My neighbors are the ones that suggested that I put up iron doors and an iron gate. They told me that when the house was originally built, that it had iron door and iron gates and they looked great. I am not sure why anyone would change something that is so timeless but they did.

I guess if you look at the old owners, you could understand it. The woman who lived here was all about material things and I am sure that the old iron doors looked like they needed replaced when they probably could just have been cleaned and brought back to their original finish. I told the neighbors that the iron gate would be delivered today and they are both excited to see how it looks when the contractors are finished with it.
